Maybe on the Christmas tree? -garland & lights in one!
These are so easy to make! I made the ivory strand for June's baptism luncheon & the "sea foam" strand to add a little twinkle to June's room for Christmas.
Materials you'll need:
1 string of lights (I used 50 ct. white lights)
2 yards of tulle (I used 2 yards, but it could take more depending on how ruffled & full you want them to be)
Lace (optional)
Cut squares of fabric & tie them along the wiring of the lights. (Squares work better than strips for creating the ruffled look). My squares were approx 7-8" & I tied one on each side of every bulb.
For the lace version (ivory, pictured above), I cut larger squares of tulle, but instead of tying the tulle to the wire, I tied the tulle to the wire with the lace.

So pretty. Love how you take the most ordinary objects and make them special.

So cute! For the 2 yards of tulle, do you buy it in the spool that's like 6 inches or buy it like fabric?
ReplyDeletePlease help in how to tie the fabric around the lights to get those ruffles like in the picture..not too artistic :(
ReplyDeleteI agree! Please let us know how you tied the fabric to the lights!

ReplyDeleteSuch an exotic lighting ideas with net flowers and exquisite favors. Red and white is the theme for ours with sparkling lights all over the Chicago event venues next week. Cute little Santa is ready with this basket and bag to surprise the guests. Cake and cup cakes with drinks are ordered along with variety dinner.
